1. Who we are

This website and shop (ripple-magazine.com) (the “Site”) is operated by Radicle Creative Works SL, a company registered in Spain, with registered address at Travessera de Gracia 48, Atico 3a, 08021 Barcelona, Spain (NIF: B26994962) (“we”, “us”, “our”).

You can contact us at hello@ripple-magazine.com.

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Site and any subscription or purchase agreement entered into through it. Please read them carefully before subscribing or purchasing.

2. About this website and shop

This Site provides information about Ripple, an ad-free print magazine for children aged 6–10, including details about the magazine, our editorial approach, and opportunities to work with us. It also allows you to purchase subscriptions and gift subscriptions.

This Site is directed at parents, educators, and other adults making decisions on behalf of children. It is not designed for direct use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this Site. Where a purchaser adds a recipient's name to personalize a gift subscription, that information is provided by the adult purchaser, not the child.

By using this Site or purchasing a subscription, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

3. Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all content on this Site, including text, articles, illustrations, and other brand assets, is owned by or licensed to Radicle Creative Works SL and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

“Ripple” is a registered trademark (wordmark) of Radicle Creative Works SL in the European Union, with an application pending in the United Kingdom. No licence is granted to reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use this content for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial viewing, without our prior written permission.

4. Magazine content and intellectual property

All content, illustrations, design, and branding within Ripple magazine itself belongs to Radicle Creative Works SL or its licensors. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or exploit any part of the magazine commercially without our written permission.

Personal, non-commercial use (reading, sharing within a household, or a single classroom use by a subscribing teacher using their own copy) is fine. Institutional use, meaning multiple classrooms, school-wide access, or reproducing and distributing content beyond a single subscriber's own copy, requires an institutional subscription; contact us at hello@ripple-magazine.com to set one up.

5. Acceptable use

When using this Site, you agree not to:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it;

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems;

  • use automated means (such as scraping or data harvesting) to extract content from the Site without our prior written permission;

  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

We reserve the right to restrict or suspend access to the Site for anyone who breaches these terms.

6. Products and Subscriptions

Ripple is an ad-free print magazine, published six times a year. The Site offers:

  • Annual subscriptions: six consecutive issues, paid in full at checkout, renewing automatically for a further six issues unless cancelled.

  • Bimonthly subscriptions: one issue per payment, renewing automatically, issue by issue, until cancelled.

  • Gift subscriptions: six consecutive issues, bought as a one-off for a named recipient, with a single payment at checkout. Gift subscriptions do not renew.

  • The current issue: the issue immediately before your subscription's first issue can be bought separately as a one-off, subject to availability. It is sent apart from your subscription, usually within 5 working days of your order. It is not part of a subscription and does not renew.

Subscriptions and gift subscriptions may be personalized with a recipient's first name. By providing a recipient's name, you confirm you are authorised to share that name with us for this purpose.

Each issue has a release date, shown on the Site. If you order by an issue's release date, your subscription starts with that issue. If you order after it, your subscription starts with the next issue.

Before you subscribe, the Site shows your first issue and its expected arrival date, and we repeat it in your order confirmation. By ordering, you agree that your first issue will be delivered on that schedule, which may be more than 30 days after your order.

7. Prices and Payment

Current prices are as shown on the Site at the time of order and are inclusive of applicable VAT. Prices are shown in the currency applicable to your storefront at checkout.

Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments. We do not store your full card details. Accepted payment methods are as shown at checkout.

Annual and gift subscriptions are paid in full at checkout. For bimonthly subscriptions, your first issue is paid at checkout and each later issue is charged automatically on its release date. An annual renewal is charged on the release date of the first issue of the new term. Our reminder email gives that date and the renewal price. A current issue bought separately is paid at checkout.

8. Order Acceptance

Your order is an offer to subscribe or purchase. The contract is formed when we confirm your order by email. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order, for example in cases of pricing errors, suspected fraud, or stock issues, in which case any payment taken will be refunded in full.

9. Subscription Term, Renewal and Cancellation

Renewal. Annual subscriptions renew for a further six issues unless you cancel. An annual renewal is charged on the release date of the first issue of the new term, which is the same release date each year, not the anniversary of your order. Bimonthly subscriptions renew one issue at a time until you cancel. Gift subscriptions and single issues do not renew.

Reminders. We will email you at least 45 days before an annual renewal is charged, and about 7 days before each bimonthly charge. Each email states the date, the price and how to cancel.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your Shopify customer account or by emailing hello@ripple-magazine.com. Cancelling stops future charges.

Refunds on cancelling.

  • Annual, first term: cancelling stops renewal. You still receive the issues you paid for, and we do not refund the current term, apart from your right of withdrawal (Section 11) and your statutory rights.

  • Annual, after a renewal: we refund one sixth of the renewal price for each issue whose release date has not yet passed.

  • Bimonthly: your first issue is paid at checkout, and Section 11 applies to it. For later issues, if you cancel before an issue's release date, you are not charged for it. Once an issue has been charged, it is sent and is not refunded.

  • Gift subscriptions are paid once and do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Section 11 applies.

Failed payments. If a recurring payment fails (an annual renewal or a later bimonthly issue), we will try once more two days later. If the second attempt succeeds, your subscription continues and your issue may be despatched a few days later than usual. If it also fails, the subscription is cancelled automatically, with no further charges and no further issues. We will email you after a failed payment.

10. Delivery

Ripple is delivered by post from the EU to addresses within the EU and UK. All prices include delivery, and UK orders are shipped DDP, so you will not be charged customs or handling fees on delivery. Each issue is despatched a few days after its release date and is expected to arrive within approximately 2 weeks. Delivery times may vary by destination country. A current issue bought separately is sent apart from your subscription, usually within 5 working days of your order.

If you need to change your delivery address, do it in your account, or email us, at least 7 days before your next issue's release date. Changes made after that apply from the following issue.

If your copy arrives damaged or does not arrive within a reasonable time of the expected delivery window, contact us and we will send a replacement copy or, where a replacement isn't possible, apply a credit or refund for that issue.

11. Right of Withdrawal

As a consumer, you can withdraw from your subscription or gift subscription within 14 days of receiving your first issue, without giving a reason. You can also withdraw before the first issue arrives. The right belongs to the person who placed the order, and any refund goes to them. It applies to your first subscription order only, not to renewals, which you can cancel under Section 9. It does not apply to a single issue bought separately, including a current issue.

To withdraw, use the withdrawal button at https://ripple-magazine.com/withdrawal or email hello@ripple-magazine.com. We will confirm receipt.

If you withdraw after an issue has been delivered, please return the issues received to Holzhauser Str. 140i, 13509 Berlin, Germany, within 14 days of telling us. You pay the cost of returning them, so please keep proof of postage. We will refund what you paid for the subscription within 14 days of receiving the issues back. If an issue is not returned, we will deduct the price of that issue. If nothing has been sent yet, nothing needs to be returned.

12. Legal Guarantee

Physical copies are covered by the legal guarantee against defects (such as printing or binding faults) that applies in your country, which is at least two years from delivery of the relevant issue. This is in addition to, and unaffected by, the replacement policy in Section 10.

13. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure the information on this Site is accurate and kept up to date. However, we make no warranty, express or implied, that our informational content is complete, accurate, or fit for any particular purpose, and it is provided for general informational purposes only.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, our liability for any issue with an order is limited to the amount paid for the relevant subscription, and our liability for any other use of the Site excludes indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage.

This Site may contain links to third-party websites, including our social media channels. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any linked third-party website.

14. Privacy

Information on how we collect and use your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, available on the Site.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time, including to reflect changes to the Site, our services, or the law. We will notify active subscribers of material changes in advance. The updated version applies from the date it is published on this page, shown by the “Last updated” date above.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute arising from these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Barcelona, Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of habitual residence.

17. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, contact us first at hello@ripple-magazine.com so we can try to resolve it directly. EU and UK consumers may also be able to use their national consumer dispute resolution body.
